Created to bring art to the community,  ArtalaCart is a mobile art class where freedom of expression rules.  My original illustrations transferred onto canvases and used during a Paint Time, remove the stress of drawing and leave only the element of painting that everyone can do.  Local businesses utilize Paint Time for added value and bring in new customers.  With this business model, I use my talents and experience in art, teaching, graphic design and marketing while serving the community in a creative and joyful way.

Equipped with all the tools of the trade, I design and produce creative materials including all types of POP materials, newspaper and magazine ads, brochures, direct mail, logos, letterhead, billboards, t-shirts and ball caps. Client experience includes Coca-Cola, Popeyes, Cox Enterprises, World Championship Wrestling, Zaxby’s, LaMar's Donuts, Atlanta Thrashers, Central Park Hamburgers and Sobik Subs.

 

THE GALLOWAY SCHOOL – Atlanta

Art & Graphic Design Teacher         2007 -2015

Initially hired as a full-time substitute Art Teacher, I began my career in the educational field. Within two months, Galloway contracted me to become the Art Teacher for Middle Learning. Bringing my talents and experience to students, grades 5-8, I not only taught Fine Art but also introduced the first Graphic Design program teaching computer design using Creative Suites and advertising marketing strategies and design concepts.  Public Works, the culminating course of the program, gave students an opportunity to work with actual clients of the Galloway community.  Students' design works have been used for clients such as Zaxby's, Coca-Cola, Shark Tank and Toys R Us.

With the Galloway School as the new host of the Art Smarts Camp of Savannah College of Art and Design, I was hired to oversee the creative aspects of the program and provide direction to accomplish these objectives. I also served as Graphic Design Instructor for ages 10-14 years-old teaching the basics of design, Adobe Illustrator and PhotoShop softare programs on Mac.

 

FOOTE, CONE & BELDING – Atlanta

Art Director        1991 - 1994

Provided all the creative needs for FCB Atlanta, as well as FCB Dallas, on the Taco Bell account. Also gave creative assistance to the FCB offices in Chicago, Philadelphia, Denver and San Francisco. Managed all phases of projects through completion and negotiated outside support contracts.

Responsibilities included the design and layout of front cover and feature articles for monthly trade publication.

 

MOVIES USA MAGAZINE – Atlanta

Director of Creative Services        1988-1993

Responsibilities included developing, formulating, and implementing advertising and promotional campaigns for clients whose objective was to reach the movie-going audience. Managed all phases of projects through to completion. Worked directly with clients and their respective agencies. Clients included Timex, Chesebrough-Pond's, Kodak, Thompson Medical, Chevrolet, Volkswagen, etc. Negotiated outside support contracts. Additional duties included overseeing final production of the magazine and traffic system management.

 

THE IMAGE GROUP ADVERTISING AGENCY – Baton Rouge

Sr. Art Director        1982-1988

Began as a graphic designer in the agency art department and was promoted to Senior Art Director. Responsibilities included creating and implementing concepts for advertising campaigns and support collateral materials for clients in the areas of real estate, banking, hotels, malls, restaurants, food products and spas. Reviewed and interpreted marketing data for formalizing strategy. Developed, proposed and operated within budgetary constraints. Negotiated outside support contracts. Conferred with clients on objectives, background information and other related factors. Supervised junior art department personnel.
